Father at Age Nine

The remarkable story of a son’s unwavering desire to make his father’s dream come true.

Father at Age Nine is an authentic autobiography penned by Mohammad Hajher, an Afghan-American. The narrative is rife with disheartening moments that Mohammad experiences, growing up without a father. Yet, his father's mantra persistently echoes in his mind, guiding him towards unexpected survival and remarkable achievements. The book serves as a beacon of inspiration and hope, echoing the powerful influence of his father's teachings.

Mohammad Hajher's journey began in Afghanistan, but following the Russian invasion, he was brought to the United States by friends from the Peace Corps. Here, he worked relentlessly to make his American dreams a reality. Along his journey, he earned an American degree and imparted his knowledge of the Afghan languages, Pashto and Dari, at an American Language Institute.

Now enjoying his retirement in the Southern United States with his wife, Mohammad remains committed to helping others. A portion of the proceeds from his book sales will be donated to his childhood village, specifically aimed at providing education for boys and girls living under the threat of Taliban rule.
